This unit starts with students observing what happens to the body of a dead animal over two weeks. This leads students to start wondering about what happens to the bodies of other things that were once alive, after they die and fall to the ground.  This motivates a series of questions related to why the bodies of dead things seem to disappear over time and ideas for ideas for investigations to pursue to help answer those questions.
